Omet and All Printing Resources host successful Fall Technology Summit

APR (All Printing Resources) and Omet’s Fall 2024 Technology Summit, held on November 7 at the Omet Innovation Center in Mount Prospect, IL, USA, was a resounding success. The event showcased the latest trends and innovations in the flexographic printing industry, featuring advancements in RFID inlay insertion and screening technologies.

Attendees enjoyed live demonstrations of Omet’s newest press, engaging networking opportunities, and insightful discussions on workforce development and sustainability.

Speakers presented information on the latest innovations, trends, and technologies shaping the future of the flexographic printing industry, and Omet demonstrated the capabilities of its latest press. After being welcomed by Francesco Ponziani, Omet Americas’ vice president, the room full of attendees listened as the guest speakers discussed numerous topics.

Catherine Haynes, VP of Strategic Initiatives at APR, introduced FlexoAcademy solutions designed to address the growing demand for modern training programs that improve retention and employee engagement in the flexographic industry. Meanwhile, Scott Steidinger, VP of Technical Operations at Tamarack Products, spoke about the latest advancements in RFID inlay insertion technology and its applications for enhancing production efficiency and accuracy. Kariahlyn Lindsey from Esko also discussed some of the latest screening technologies available and how they can help all Flexo printers improve quality and consistency.

Plus, Haynes explored the challenges and opportunities of matching flexographic and digital technologies, offering strategies for maintaining color consistency.

Sustainability was highlighted at the event, as well. Dan Riendeau, Strategic Business Unit Director at Flexcon, discussed key sustainability attributes driving consumer preferences and how businesses can turn these trends into opportunities for growth.

After lunch, Omet presented a live demo of the KFLEX 17″ press that showcased advanced printing capabilities, including RFID inlay insertion technology, illustrating how businesses can improve efficiency and reduce production bottlenecks. A demonstration of the press’ ability to do quick job changes and auto-registration of the new job impressed the attendees. After the demo, there was more time to view the press up close, ask questions, and enjoy networking time.
